Its a busy time for our Jefferson North Assembly Plant in Detroit. The facility has just started turning out the very first examples of the all-new 2011 Dodge Durango, and big names from both Dodge and the United Auto Workers stopped by to celebrate. Ralph Gilles, Dodge brand CEO, and UAW Vice President General Holiefield made the rounds as line workers put the finishing touches on the very first production Durango on December 14. You could have lit up a room with all the smiling faces.
We first showed off the 2011 Durango at the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon earlier this year, and fans immediately responded to the three-row vehicles SUV-like 7, 400 pound towing capacity and crossover-beating levels of comfort. Of course, were pretty fond of the brawny styling of the Durango, too. We still go a little weak-kneed when we see the Durango Citadel flex its muscles.
With production going full force, you can expect to see the Durango land in dealers later this month. Heres to hoping weve all been good enough to warrant one of these under the tree this year.
