If theres one track in the world that automakers want to set records, its the infamous Nurburgring in Germany. Nestled in the majestic Eifel Mountains, on any given day, youll see everything from exotics to everyday passenger cars making laps on the 12.9 mile North Loop of the Ring
A fast time means bragging rights along with endless marketing opportunities to promote your supercar or grocery getter. On September 14, a handful of SRT engineers and technicians along with the Viper Club of America and the Tomball Dodges ViperExchange headed across the pond to the Ring. Armed with basically a stock street-legal 2010 Viper SRT10 ACR, they had one goal, knock the Chevy ZR1 Corvette and Lexus LFA off the pole. Veteran GT driver Dominik Farnbacher piloted the 600-horsepower Viper to a blistering 7:12.13 time and reclaimed the Production Car Lap Record.
