New Smart Phone Apps Give You the Skinny on Your Vehicle

Now this is cool. If you have an Android, Apple or Blackberry smartphone and want to know all you can about your new Dodge vehicle, we have just the thing. Check out our new Mopar® apps. You can do everything, from looking up video demonstrations to connecting with other Dodge owners, accessing 24 hour road-side assistance and browsing a virtual owner’s manual. That means no more flipping through that heavy chunk of paper taking up space in your glove box. To us, the best part is that we can update those virtual manuals automatically, so you’re always armed with the most up-to-date information out there.

The apps will be available to iPhone users first, but Android and Blackberry users won’t be far behind. The Dodge Avenger, Journey and Grand Caravan apps will all debut this month. Don’t own one of those Dodge products? Don’t worry, the rest of the fleet will get their respective apps soon after. Stay tuned!  If you want to know more, you can check out the press release on the apps here.

It’s great to see Dodge getting up to speed with the new technology. It seems that many of the other OEMs have been outpacing us in this area for a while – especially FOMOCO. I can’t wait for the Challenger app to hit the android!

This is awesome…. well, as soon as the Challenger app is out.

The best thing you guys could do is to in the tech area is to talk Apple into building a replacement for the MyGig, and give them whatever they want to get the exclusive on it for a few years.

I would much rather see Google do a MyGig interface rather than Apple. Apple is not compatible with anything other than itself.
