Sinister has a new set of wheels with the release of the Dodge Dart Blacktop Edition.
Dodge has applied its exciting Blacktop concept to the 2014 Dart, continuing the success of the Blacktop packages offered on the Dodge Avenger, Dodge Journey, Dodge Challenger, Dodge Charger and Dodge Grand Caravan. The latest Blacktop model will make its public debut at the 2014 North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
The Dart Blacktop Edition starts off with the Dart SXT equipped with the Rallye Appearance Group and then adds Gloss Black 18-inch aluminum wheels and Gloss Black mirrors to the exterior, complementing the striking Blackout visual theme of features already included in the SXT with Rallye Appearance Group (gloss black mask and split crosshair grille, and dark tinted projector headlamps). Available exterior colors include Bright White, Header Orange, Redline Red, Blue Streak and Granite Crystal Metallic.
Inside the Dart Blacktop Edition, there’s a special black and Ruby Red cloth interior with Ruby Red accent stitching on the seat bolsters, center console and instrument cluster hood, complemented by Ruby Red accents on the front seats and door panels. An alternate interior combination in black and Light Tungsten is offered as well.
Like all Dart SXT models, the Blacktop Edition is powered by the Tigershark® 2.4-liter MultiAir® engine with 184 horsepower. Available with the Blacktop package is the optional Sun and Sound Group, which adds a sunroof, Uconnect® CD/MP3 audio system with 506-watt amplifier and 8.4-inch touchscreen, rearview camera and navigation system.
“The Blacktops have become a signature of sorts for the Dodge Brand,” says Tim Kuniskis, president and CEO of the Dodge Brand. “With the addition of the Blacktop package for the Dodge Dart, we’re adding to our lineup of vehicles that offer the more aggressive look that has become so popular with our customers.” The Dodge Dart Blacktop Edition arrives in Dodge showrooms in the first quarter of 2014.
