SRT Engineer Chat on LX Forums

The Street & Racing Technology (SRT) division and its incredible performance vehicles and parts, will be discussed over at a forum that takes it a step further. Loaded with excellent information (and sprinkled with a little automotive technobabble for good measure, of course), the SRT Engineers Roundtable over at the LX Forums features live discussions with none other than our own SRT engineers. You read that right. Car talk doesn’t get much better than that, and gives a whole new meaning to the “self-proclaimed expert” phenomenon that’s rampant on so many car forums out there. These chats, which have been going on now for five years, are often delightfully technical in nature, and have focused on nearly every aspect of the Charger SRT and Challenger SRT so far. Whether they’re about the tire-melting engine, rugged drivetrain, stiffened suspension, ride & handling or performance on the track, the answers you find here are straight from the horse’s mouth and loaded with detail.

So, if you’ve got a question or curiosity about your SRT, maybe one that even your local dealer or car buddies can’t answer, hop on over to the LX Forums. Chances are, the people who’ll reply will be able to help because, well, they designed your car. What more could you want?

This is more directed to the SRT end of things rather than the LX. Are there any plans being considered to extend SRT operations to the RAM? The SRT 10 is the last I recall. I could be missing something since then, but it seems that if the V-10 is not going to happen in a RAM, the 6.4l, 392 would make a great replacement to bring SRT back to the trucks.

Is there any de-tuning that could be done to make a production Viper motor/6 speed in a Challenger???? Or will this just have to be a DIY nightmare????

The engineers are not allowed to answer questions about future products for obvious reasons.

Hey SRT, How about a SRT/4 Avenger for the grown ups who cant quite afford an SRT/8? It would be easy to do. Just pull that SRT/4 Caliber engine off the shelf, mate it to the six speed auto. and bolt it in the newly redesigned Avenger. You could even reuse brakes and 19″ wheels from Caliber SRT/4. That would be an awesome car that I would buy in a heartbeat.
