You Could Be Dodge Material – 1970 Dodge Charger 500 Commercial

Advertising has changed a lot over the years, but it doesn’t even feel like too long ago that this commercial for the 1970 Dodge Charger 500 was airing on the networks. Nowadays, though, a spot like this ends up being more hilarious than most of the ads that are intentionally funny.
In this spot, you can see for yourself just how attractive the 1970 Dodge Charger really was. So much so that it could change your whole image, therefore causing you to leave your lady stranded on the beach.
The fact of the matter remains true, though, that getting behind the wheel of a Dodge can inspire a confidence that can even transform awkward wimps like Elliot into men of steel.
So, are YOU Dodge material?

Great commercial.  Are we NOT allowed to comment any more?  All of mine no longer get posted.

Good looking car, can you offer the Charger in a two door like the Chrysler 200?  I also prefer the grille on this one.  That would really make the new one a lot more attractive. You offer black interiors in the Charger and 300, can you offer them in the Challenger?  It looks a lot racier than the gray.  Thanks!

This is like the Charger on the Kentucky Fried Chicken commercial.  The two guys are buying chicken pot pies which I do not know how it relates to driving a fast 1970 Charger.  Pot to me equates to slowness and driving a Pinto or Vega.  Well, at least ones that haven’t been converted to big block V8s. Oh well, interesting commercial…it sure wouldn’t be politically correct today.
