Five Alarm Burnouts At Carlisle All-Chrysler Nationals!

Where there’s smoke, there’s fire and the traditional burnout contest at the All-Chrysler Nationals, the fire marshals in the surrounding townships had to take notice. This year, over ten enthusiasts answered the call and subjected their vehicles to the torture and mayhem of locking their front brakes and spinning the rear tires until large plumes of smoke come billowing out from the wheel wells. In many cases, the tires eventual blew, sending smoking chunks of rubber into the air making for some great souvenirs for the fans. The vehicles selected ranged from an early 1960s Dodge and Plymouth A/FX tributes, Ram trucks and even a late-model Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8. Tires weren’t the only parts to suffered catastrophic failure and we also witnessed collateral damage on some engine and driveline parts. In the end, it was Rick Schutz’s 1974 Challenger that walked away with all the glory and crowned the 2011 burnout champion. Check out the hot smoking video below tell us what you think!
