Things to Do in Denver When You’re Dodge

Sunday broke cool and crisp in the Mile High City this weekend, providing the perfect running conditions for the inaugural Rock ‘n’ Roll Denver Marathon & ½ Marathon. It was the quintessential early-autumn adrenaline rush, and we were thrilled to experience it as both passionate athletes and official event sponsors. Our enthusiasm was mirrored by thousands, and by the time the last pair of well-worn treads had slapped the finish line we hear the total headcount stood at 15, 000. The coveted winner’s circle was dominated by New Zealand Olympian Mike Aish, Australian Karen Barlow, Colorado local Mario Macias and Romanian native Adriana Pirtea for the men & women’s marathon and half-marathon finishes, respectively. Regardless of their official time, however, every entrant finished to a chorus of cheering spectators and a sense of pride only the truly dedicated can understand.

Though the race kicked off under the cover of early morning darkness, we still managed to capture some great footage. Hit the jump to check it out and don’t forget to check back next weekend when we rub elbows with the stars at the Dodge Rock ‘n’ Roll Los Angeles Marathon.
