31st Annual Mopar Nationals – You Going?

For over three decades, diehard and passionate Dodge, Plymouth and AMC musclecar fans get together for a weekend of meeting up with old friends and showing of their prized ride. They also get to partake in some drag racing fun and walk the vast swap meet looking at rare and exotic parts for sale. The Mopar Nationals – or more affectionately known in the community as the “Nats”, has the honor of being one of the longest continuous running Chrysler events in the world. Even though the Nats have been held at various sites during its long history, its adoptive home is National Trails Raceway just outside Columbus Ohio. If the rows of high-impact colored vintage HEMI® Challengers and ‘Cudas don’t saturate your senses, the night time cruising through the quaint town of Heath will put you in high-octane overload. This year’s event also marks the first stop of the SRT High Performance Tour. Our go-fast friends from down the hall will be displaying some eye candy like the awesome 2012 Challenger and Charger SRT8, each packing 392 cubes under the hood.  The 2011 Mopar Nationals will be happening this weekend so pack your slicks and head to National Trails Raceway. We’ll also be in the pits and trackside capturing the sights and sounds so make sure to “chirp” your tires going into second gear if you see us!

It would be a Mopar for sure, But alas not a Dodge. I would be cruising in a 1969 Plymouth Barracuda. Not a big block monster, or an s package. Just my ole 318cid 727 shifted babey.     Was thinkin it would be cool and fuel effecient if Mother Mopar would creat a crate moter package of the new 3.6l 310hp v-6 to go into some of the A-Bodies. Just a thought

I would love to go to the nationals, however, thanks to Obama and the Donkey party who thinks spending more money that we don’t have is the answer to our economic woes, no extra cash this year.  401k, that should be worth nothing in a few years.  Thank God for my old Mopar 440 six pack muscle cars, better than gold.
