Dodge and Pastrana Dominate in New Hampshire

After a challenging start to his 2012 season, Travis Pastrana broke through in the SYLVANIA SilverStar zXe Global RallyCross at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.  He took his qualifying heat with authority, winning a fierce battle with Samuel Hubinette, and then dominated the feature event with his 650hp Dodge Dart.

“It is absolutely awesome to get out here and get on top.” Pastrana said. “It has been a heck of a rough season.  This Dodge Dart is an awesome car. These guys gave me what it took to win and I just want to thank each and every one of them. I feel like we had the best car, we have a great crew, and we finally showed where this Dodge Dart should be.”

In the feature, Pastrana again beat Hubinette to the finish line, this time by 1.431 seconds, with Brian Deegan, Tanner Foust, and Ken Block third, fourth,  and fifth, respectively.

The circuit at New Hampshire, which drew rave reviews from the drivers, featured a chicane, dirt, moguls, a 180-degree hairpin, and a 70-foot gap jump, allowing Pastrana to showcase his rough-terrain skills.  “This course actually is RallyCross,” Pastrana said. “There’s an over-under cross jump, there’s pavement, dirt, and there’s new, challenging obstacles.”

The next and final event of the GRC season takes place at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on September 28-29, 2012.

Great job, Travis!  I am glad your luck has changed after we saw you in Texas.  This Dart looks cool…can Dodge make a two door Dart?  The 650hp would be nice as well.
