UPDATED: The 2009 Dodge Motorsports Team Revs Its Engines

The NASCAR® season will soon be in full swing, and we’re going to be bringing more coverage of the Dodge Motorsports team to Red Letter Dodge this season.

With only one race out of the way – The Budweiser Shootout, which saw three Dodge drivers in the top-10 – now’s the perfect time to catch NASCAR fever if you haven’t already. Here’s how our Dodge Boys did in the Shootout:

• 5th – A.J. Allmendinger, #44 Valvoline Dodge Charger
• 6th – Kasey Kahne, #9 Budweiser Dodge Charger
• 9th – Kurt Busch, #2 Miller Lite Dodge Charger
• 16th – David Stremme, #12 Penske Racing Dodge Charger
• 21st – Elliott Sadler, #19 Stanley Dodge Charger
• 23rd – Reed Sorenson, #43 McDonald’s Dodge Charger

If you don’t have the fever yet, there have been some changes to the Dodge Motorsports lineup this year that are worth knowing about. Gillett Evernham Motorsports has merged with Richard Petty’s team to form the new Richard Petty Motorsports, so there are now two teams: Richard Petty Motorsports and Penske Racing.

UPDATE: You can learn all about the new lineup by visiting the official Dodge Motorsports site.

Since the season is just warming up, we want to know something: What sort of Dodge Motorsports coverage would you like to see that you can’t find anywhere else? Leave us a comment and let us know what you’re excited to see in 2009.

I\’m glad Dodge is a part of motorsport!!! The heritage alone is reason enough but think about it…motorsports drives awareness to the brand and certainly drives loyalty.
As for nascar, this year should be interesting with all the changes. Dodge has a good chance to win the Daytona 500 again this year so good luck boys!
With that, i\’d love to see all forms of motorsports covered. There are soooo many other Dodge vehicles out there racing…World of Outlaws, Drifting, Drag racing is huge, rally racing, truck racing and rock climbing…the list goes on and on and on. Dodge should take advantage of all forms or motorsport where a \”Dodge\” is participating. Don\’t you guys thing??? I\’m sure Mr. Nardelli agrees with me. Mr. Nardelli?
