HELLO RLD READERS AND DODGE RACE FANS:
Before I touch on the race for the chase, I want to give you an update on my charity, The Kurt Busch Foundation. Earlier in the summer, I announced a new fundraiser – – we are raffling off a fully-loaded 2009 Dodge Challenger SRT8®. The new Bright Silver Metallic 2009 Dodge Challenger SRT8 received a one-of-a-kind paint scheme design by PPG master painter and instructor Paul Stoll and was painted by renowned street rod painter Charley Hutton of Charley Hutton Color Studio. I spent some time at Penske Racing while he was painting the SRT8 and he is a cool dude.
I have to tell you all this is one fabulous car. The design is spectacular and the finish is great. They did a great job on this Dodge Challenger and there is going to be a very happy winner driving this car around town.
So now onto the raffle – – Raffle tickets may be purchased via my website, www.kurtbusch.com , for $100.00 each. All proceeds will go to the foundation and will benefit The Kurt Busch Superdome which is an indoor, climate controlled, sports facility located at The Victory Junction Gang Camp in Randleman, NC. My wife Eva and I donated the proceeds to have the superdome built and it opened last year. This is something very personal to us and I’m doing everything I can to support the superdome.
The charity raffle will go through September 29, 2009. The winner will be announced at www.kurtbusch.com on September 30th. We’re hoping to do something cool for the drawing so stay tuned…

Now the 2009 season…
What a difference a year makes. With two races to go in the chase, we are in 6th place, 192 points ahead of my little brother who sits in 13th.
We still have our work cut out for ourselves next week in Atlanta. My big-picture goal is to leave Atlanta with enough points ahead of 13th so we can head into Richmond already locked into the chase. But…I sure would like to win that race again. We dominated Atlanta back in March, and the bonus points would be important to take with us into the chase. I’ll be glad when this is over.
More importantly though, I want to thank everyone for your support of Dodge.
These are tough times, but it looks like everything is going to work itself out. We couldn’t be racing without your support and I appreciate that. I hope to get the Charger back into Victory Lane before the season is over.
Well, I got to run, but check back here for some updates later in the year.
Talk to you later,
(Editor’s Note: Kurt and fellow Dodge driver Kasey Kahne will be the likely representatives for Dodge in the Chase. For more info, check out our Motorsports page here.)
