Two Top-12 Finishes For Dodge as the Chase Heats Up

10-7-09blog-racecar2.jpgDodge’s two top Sprint Cup drivers held their own in Sunday’s Price Chopper 400 at Kansas Speedway: 29th race in the ‘09 Series, third in the end-of-season Chase. Kasey Kahne finished 6th and Kurt Busch 11th, after Tony Stewart’s gutsy two-tire final pit shaved enough time to hold off Jeff Gordon and secure the win. (See the last laps here.)

Stewart’s victory (his fourth this season) bumped Kurt down one spot in the standings to number 5, just 91 points off the lead with seven races to go; the series continues with the Pepsi 500 this Sunday, October 11, and finishes November 22 at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

i use to really like nascar until they changed the rules every other week, and made it into all spec racing. \\\”follow the leader\\\” it will be just like the truck series, all toyota….): you really see alot of fans there too! \\\”LOL\\\” the days of win on sunday and sell on monday are over. if i were dodge i would be done with nascar too! i think they will be alot of changes in nascar in the next few years not only being all toyota\\\’s , but nobody cares about the so called \\\”car of the day\\\” anymore! if they went back to a true STOCK CAR it would be racing again! that\\\’s my thoughts. keep up the good work DODGE , i am still behind you 110% sometimes you need to change the furniture in the old house to make it new again!

I think Dodge unfortunately may be done with Nascar. As for Kasey, you gotta feel for the guy. He has a real circus of a team with RPM/Gillett. He gets a win one weekend and locks him in the chase, the very next weekend the team he’s with drops all kinds of bombshells on the guy and causes termoil and havoc all the while he’s trying to win a championship. Stupid, Stupid, Stupid. Now they are saying they are trying to get a Saudi prince. I guess the “Iron Sheik” will return. Get out of there Kasey and Fast!!!!
I’ve only been watching Nascar for the past 2 years, and in that very short time it has gone down the toilet….fast.
Maybe Fiat see’s this Nascar circus and wants nothing to do with it. I agree its time to leave.
