It’s April 26, and you know what that means, Dodge fans: It’s National HEMI day. 4/26 = 426. Let’s celebrate!

 

The legendary 426 HEMI V8 was born back in late 1963 when Chrysler performance engineers, led by group manager Tom Hoover, decided to up the ante in NASCAR and on the drag strips, where the Dodge brand was already a top performer.

Dodge and Keselowski Win Again in Dover

 

Brad Keselowski used sharp fuel mileage strategy to win the AAA 400 at Dover International Speedway. The Penske Racing driver led only twice for 14 of the 400 laps in his Dodge Charger, but now he has two victories in the first three races of the final 10-race Chase for the Sprint Cup—and he leads the points standings over perennial favorite Jimmie Johnson.

Dodge Drivers Impress at Chicagoland

After a weather delay of almost 24 hours, the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup received the green flag Monday at Chicagoland Speedway – race No. 1 of 10 that will decide this year’s champion.

 

Weather was much of the story all weekend. Teams arrived into the Chicago area to unseasonably cool conditions on Friday that transitioned into rain showers on Sunday, postponing a Chase race for the first time since its inception in 2004.
