While touring back in 2008 with the Dodge Challenger SRT8, I stumbled across a place called National Speed in Wilmington, NC. It’s a small, well-dressed performance shop with a floor clean enough to eat off of.
 
They tweak and tune everything from 4-cylinder pocket rockets all the way up to V-10 powered Vipers. And it’s that diversity of projects that has National Speed poised to become the next big name in the tuner game.

You’ve got to give credit where credit is due.  The previous generation Dodge Challenger SRT8 with the 6.1-liter HEMI was, is, and always will be a tremendous car.  I have logged tens of thousands of miles behind the wheel of this great machine.  In fact, back in 2008, I piloted #552 of 6,400 down the East Coast for a month.  I had the absolute time of my life.  You can read my synopsis of that trip right here…
