2011 Dodge Challenger SRT8 392 Review

Go big home or go home¬–nothing this year captures that mentality more than the 2011 Dodge Challenger SRT8 392. To prove it, the gear heads at Motor Trend got behind the wheel of our heavy-duty beefed up beast, and what did they find? Well, the rumors are true. Not only does the Challenger look good on the road, but there is also plenty of big-power backing it. Last year, Motor Trend testers hit the track comparing the 2010 Challenger to its nemesis, the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro SS. So who came out on top for track dominance? That’s right, the Challenger.

This year’s model takes it to the next level, boasting a 6.4 Hemi under-hood and engine displacement at 392 cubic inches on the dot. And you know we’re going to tell you what Motor Trend’s testers had to say about all this. Well, after the Challenger delivered a 13.0-second flat quarter-mile at 111.3 miles-per-hour and went from 0-60 in 4.6-seconds their final synopsis was: “…it’s fast, real fast.” While we already knew that, we certainly do appreciate the nod of approval. Here’s to taking something good and making it better.

An automatic equipped 392 HEMI Challenger SRT8 went 12.44 @ 112 earlier this year and it was totally stock.

I own a new 392 and paired with the Hurst short throw shifter it rolls threw the gears with ease.
The new 392 is a force to be reckoned with.

it’s not the Camaro that’s competition ( SS=400 hp ) It’s the Mustang Shelby 5.4 w/ supercharged 550 hp ( Shelby ) that the Challenger needs to beat. The 392 cid has 470hp having 80 horses too short. However, the mustang 5.0 only has 412 horses still leaving the Challenger on top. Please Dodge, supercharge the Challenger ( or Charger ) so it can be the FASTEST & make a Challenger convertible, PLEASE! The mustang & camaro have convertibles, & the Challenger USED to offer drop-tops…bring back the blue too!
That’s my MOPAR wish list 🙂
