So what happens to the cars on December 20th after arriving in Corona, CA? Do the drivers leaving them running with the keys in them, then grab a cab to LAX?

Looks like the highway tour is taking the low road. 🙂 No love for the Northwest.

    Posted November 12, 2010 at 9:32 pm | Permalink

Hey moparman, it is winter time up north. These cars are meant to run fast on the open highway, not spin around on the ice and snow. These guys are from Detroit. They want some warm weather. This is the ultimate vacation. Think about it.

So I guess that means the cars don’t handle the ice & snow very well if they’re avoiding the Northwest, lol? We have open road too.

The country’s too big to make everyone happy.

I’m anxious to see this new Charger. Good chance one of the classics will be sold for one.

rtmike, no offense, but they might get caught in a snowstorm and that would throw off the schedule. If you lived up north and had a chance for an extended vacation in a warmer climate, what would you do? They will probably tour some new release up north during the summer where the weather is cooler. If this tour goes well, why not.

Seriously !!!! No stop in Norfolk / VA Beach area. Huge modern Mopar following there !!! I have already sat in the 392 (and I think maybe drooled on it a little) at SEMA but would love to see it again. Not to mention, would love to see the smile on the faces of the other Challenger/Charger owners around here if they got to see them.

I’d love to see those beauties, unfortunately I’ll be working when they roll through Arizona. I guess I’ll have to wait until they come available at dealerships! LOVE the redesigned Charger, but I won’t trade in my Challenger for it 😛

Take an AWD Charger R/T through the snow belt, especially Colorado Springs, CO! Don’t be wimps!

I live in Oregon, we have not had any snow or ice below about 4500 feet so far this year. (I live at 217 feet above sea level)

That aside, I was being more humerous than upset, ie “high” way, “low” road. 🙂

No stops in Maryland, Virginia or DC? Seriously?

No stop in VA/DC/MD is a real bummer. Make it happen on Nov 19! Email me if you need help finding a local club or spot to do this.

Saw the tour yesterday – The 2011 Charger is way too good for pics or words! I was NOT expecting what I saw. I was 95% sure I was getting a GC until I saw it!

West Coast Challengers eagerly anticipates the Hemi Highway Tour’s visit to California. We may even have our own 392 Challenger present by the time you get here. Safe travels.

Saw the 392 and Charger R/T at Bergeron in Meatairie, LA. Had to see them for myself. The Charger doesn’t have a bad angle on it. It is a jaw dropper as promised. The interior is amazing. To me a blend of Italian/Harley Davidson and just plain good styling wrapped up in one. Much different than the battleship grey interiors I am used to seeing.
The 392 is hard to look away from. The new 1 inch smaller steering wheel is just right. New gauges are pretty sweet too.
I guess about the only thing that would have made this better would have been, test drives!

Once again, Chrysler / Dodge dumps on the mid-atlantic region ! You have to go through MD and VA to get to NC, or don’t you have a factory navigation system. You could have made at least one stop. Makes us wonder why we stuck with you. You closed half our dealerships and now don’t even stop when passing through.

Hemi Highway Tour, Glendale, AZ, 12/16/2010–Corner Bakery–caught up with Scott and Heather and the 2 sweet rides! The Charger looks amazing, and the SRT 392 Challenger is incredible. Wished I knew how to post the pics! Thanks for being so cool, you guys! Hopefully you’ll run back thru Phx again soon so I can borrow the Challenger for a couple days!

Hit the “Hemi Highway Tour” at my local dealership this evening. Met Scott & Heather and snapped a few photos. The NEW 392 is on my Christmas list. Thanks for the banner Scott.

Too bad I just got this announcement on December 17! Guess I won’t be able to participate since it’s almost over and now the show is on the West Coast, a couple of thousand miles from Illinois where I live!

Hey, since you couldn’t have one tour hit every state, why not run two or three tours to hit the lower 48? You get better market penetration and exposure and more people could check it out if they wanted to at multiple sites? Also give enthusiasts more warning about the event schedule via email! Thanks!

Many of us will be meeting up at the Chrysler Building located at 7700 Gateway Blvd., in Irvine, CA 92618, to roll in together at the Cars and Coffee stop of the Tour on December 18th. We’ll have coffee and donuts on hand. Meeting at 6:00 a.m., rain or shine. Open to all. Don’t be shy, come join us.

I was at Bob’s Big Boy last night; it was a lot of fun to see all the Challengers lined up all shiny and bright; even with the rain it did not dampen the spirits of the participants; it just reaffirmed what I already knew, I love my new Challenger!

It was great having everyone out at Bob’s last night. A little rain could not stop us from coming out to welcome Scott and Heather to So Cal in a big way. We all had a great time being in Hemi Heaven last night.

Here’s an idea…now that you are done showing the new Charger and Challenger off to the folks who are on the border of our country, how about showing it off to all your loyal fans in the Midwest? We aren’t that far from Detroit…Wisconsin, Iowa, MN and places like that. How about it?

Another idea would be to do what Dodge and Plymouth did during the muscle car hey days in the early 1970s-have a traveling show like this that simply touts the latest and greatest and offer a performance clinic. Do the shows on the weekends and have it in one or two spots in each state on the tour. It could be like the Rapid Transit tours done back then!

Keep the tour going for the summer Dodge. It was nice to get to meet these two dedicated workers showing the product and getting to know the 2011 Challenger and Charger. Plenty of MOPAR events that would love to have them be part of the shows.

Looking forward to seeing Dodge participate more.

What no stop in Mebane where Sox and Martin were based, and no stop at Petty Enterprises where we still build limited edition Challengers and Chargers? Should have started earlier and they could have been at Mopars at the Rock, Rockingham dragway. NC
