HEMI Orange Challenger and Super Track Pak Now Available

You’ve clamored for it, so we acted. Here’s another color update for all you Challenger fans: Classic HEMI Orange paint is now available again for order on the R/T and SRT8 Challengers — and for R/T Classic Models, an added option of white dual wide side stripes.

But Challenger isn’t just about bringing back our best classic colors, it’s also about performance. So we’ve also brought back the Super Track Pak from the 1970s, adding in performance steering and brakes, three-season Goodyear F1 Tires, load-leveling shocks, and full-off ESP — on the five-speed automatic as well as the six-speed manual transmission. The end result, for anyone not familiar with the Super Track Pak: Your Challenger will now get around the track even quicker. Who can argue with that?

I like the Super Track Pak idea, is this an option or standard equipment on the Classic and SRT Challengers? The white stripes look good as well on the orange and you should offer more of your black Classics with the white stripes. Can we order this now or is this for next year? Thanks!

RLD: I must say, I really like the fact that you are updating websites regularly and answering the requests/demands of the people.
Since 2006 when the concept car debuted, my major complaint has been lack of information for the public. We are in the information age, and I believe a company like yourself needs an entire information division. Privately run blogs shouldn’t have better information about what’s available than a company’s website or a delearship for that fact! I was able to give updates to my dealership while waiting on my ’08 Challenger.
Thanks for stepping up and I look forward to seeing continued improvements!

I ordered a plum crazy R/T on 10/27 and the super track pak had been available shortly before that date for about 24 hrs. Now I’m trying to add it to my order which is in D status and IT’S STILL UNAVAILABLE!!!
It’s nice to read about here but it would be nice if I could get it on my Challenger which won’t be built until after Brampton opens up weeks from now.
While I have your attention, how about getting that RAM truck emblem logo off of the car and coming up with something new ASAP. RAM is supposed to be a truck division now, so what’s it doing on a Challenger?

CMC, your probably right. I feel for you guys who want that color and have the cash but can’t
get it. Makes no sense to me. Why don’t they drop one of the bright metallic silver, or Titanium metallic, or even the deep water blue colors for the sublime, if they are worried about
how many colors they can have. (Man, love that B5 blue…….’cmon lottery picks!).
Now, for any of you who want the ultimate Challenger (can you say, “SUPER CHALLENGER?”)with whatever options you want, and have the loot to spend, stop on over to Mr.Norms (www.mrnorms.com) for a convertible, shaker hood, 600+ HP, whatever color, you name it, they are in full production right now! They can even give you a ‘cuda!
I can guarentee its one-of-a-kind! I just recently read an article in “Mopar Enthusiast” magazine about his cars, and even Ralph Gilles was impressed with
what he had done to the cars. (view this article for free at http://www.moparenthusiast.com)

Yeah, guess I better book a ticket to Barrett Jackson in 2010.

We are offering a one off Sublime Green 2010 Challenger, created as a personal car for . This car was intended to go into production, but someone in the company decided the color was too bold of a statement to make, so production was stopped. This is a 1 of 1 car, offered at a starting bid of $125, 000.

Just making sure I didn’t miss something here, cause I don’t always see or hear thigns right when they happen.

What do you mean by “Classic HEMI Orange paint”? Do you mean the color you are currently using on cars, or have you remixed it to be exaclty the same color as the original hemi orange from the ’60s/’70s?

Just checking, figured maybe I had missed something. I know someone had brought up that the hemi orange on modern vehicles looked a bit different than the original color.

Gee. I didn’t read anything offensive. Sorry if someone got bend out of shape. Lets get down to topic shell we. When it comes down to a car like the Challenger, the number one priority before buying will be deciding on what color. I mean why would you spend your money, bring the car home, spend the time and effort to keep it in tip top shape if in the back of your mind you’d wished that you’d bought some other color? To us Mopar people this is more than just about owning a car. When and “IF” Dodge comes out with sublime, for me at least, mine will be at the top of it’s game 24/7. I guarantee than when mine hits the street, jaw’s will drop. I want to make the statement that only one company builds a car like the Challenger. The rest are all second class citizens.

Back to my previous post, Dodge, you need an Information Control division. I am an Information Warfare officer in the Navy and I must say, you guys could really use a lesson in information Dominance. You need to get ahead of the curve and beat other blogs/websites to the punch when you announce upcoming changes. Along those same lines, you need people who are solely responsible for scouring the internet for customer “wants.” In turn, you appeal to your customers by making them feel that you are listening.
We understand that changes take time when building thousands of cars, but make sure your actions correspond to your information releases.

I’m not too picky about color. White will do for me just fine. However, I still hope that eventually Dodge will build a challenger convertible. You can replace your sebring convert. rental fleet with chally converts throughout the Sunbelt states. Seriously , I don’t know who does your marketing research, but a rag top IMHO will sell very well in the West coast and Sunbelt. Hurry up Dodge. I can’t wait 4-ever! That 2011 convert Camaro looks pretty good too!

I stand behind my comments, as I feel I’ve been open, honest, and upfront on my desire to purchase a Dodge automobile. I hope folks at Dodge don’t forget this summer, when dealers were marking up the challengers like they were limited to production runs of 100 units. Very bad idea, in lieu of the factors in the marketplace today.

I also hope you believe the sincerity in people posting here. As I stated, I truly wanted to buy a new challenger, but the offering I want is not going to happen in 2010. That’s OK. I enjoyed posting here, saw some nice pics, and got some good laughs out of the posts.

This cost me nothing but my time. A sublime green challenger is a little more costly. Actually it just got a lot more expensive, as I need to decide if I want to go the aftermarket or vintage route.

I hope Dodge turns the corner someday and gets back on track, running on a full 8 cylinders. I don’t think you are there yet, so hopefully you hire proactive staff who can help jump start things, no pun intended.

Until then, I’m planning to spend my time and money on other things. And for what its worth, in business, I would rather have folks talking smack about me, in lieu of silence. Silence equals no sales.

    Later days Dodge Boyz

I’m actually not disappointed now except for the Super Track Pak issue. I ordered my car almost two months ago and I knew I wanted this option at that time. I was told it would not be available until December and nobody knew when the window to order a Plum Crazy Purple Classic was going to end. I didn’t want to risk NOT getting one, so I ordered one fully loaded hoping I’d be able to add the STP on when it became available. Flames T, and JonW who posted above are in the same situation. I’m sure there are many more.
It seems unfair we committed to buying our cars 2 months ago and can’t get what we want, yet someone walking into a dealership today CAN! I hope Mark Mallie hooks us up. As of this point, I’ve not heard any news whatsoever. All we can do is keep the faith.
Mark, please update us with some good news! Thank you.

My first choice hands down is Sublime but my theory is that life is short and no one knows what awaits them good or bad. So, I asked myself, “I could order a Challenger in another great color and experience the joy of owning a muscle car again or I could wait even longer and hope that someday Sublime will become available.” I would rather experience the trill now. I ordered a DY through Bob Frederick. The car has been built and released for shipment. I am not a high roller with big bucks but if and when Sublime is released (I am betting in 2011) I will sell my DY and find a way to buy a Sublime Challenger.

I know logically it might seem stupid for Dodge to slowly release the Heritage colors while Ford and GM have a wider spectrum of colors but I believe it’s pretty good marketing. It keeps the buzz going and the interest and mystique about the Challenger strong.

Behind the scenes at Dodge all the employees have been dealing with the stress of a bankruptcy and merger. When I worked for Hewlett Packard and the company merged with Compaq the stress and additional workload was incredible.

In summary, let’s cut the folks at Dodge some slack. Keep the feedback coming because management seems to be listening. And roll the dice and order a Challenger in your second best choice. Life is short so go for it!

Is the Super Track Pak (STP) option still only about $400? If so, why don’t you shave off a $100 and make it standard on all of the Classic R/Ts. In that way you could speed up the production since all of those cars would come with the option and you could get a better deal on the parts since you are buying in volume. I think everyone will appreciate the option once they use it a couple of times.

Anyone that does not buy a Challenger because they do not offer a specific color is missing out on a great time.I had a red 09 and now I am getting a 2010 Yellow RT. The car is a blast to drive regardless of the color. I am sorry that I missed out on the new track pack but oh well I will get it on the next one, my point is, that if you keep waiting for this or that you will miss out on a lot of good times and find that life is passing you bye.

The 09 has the lifetime powertrain warranty, why would you want to sell it? You can race it every day and if and when you ever blow the motor, you get a new one free, courtesy of Dodge. Wait, you may have an SRT where you pay more and get less of a warranty. I guess that is why they finally gave each car the 5/50 warranty. I guess that makes sense except for those who held out for the ultimate colors.

Here we go again, the new Challengers with the T/A hood and funky AAR stripe come to town (Mopar Exterior package) and they are charging an extra $1,500 market adjustment cost. This really turns people off and I thought we did away with these dealers. These dealers just give Dodge a bad name. I was almost tempted to purchase one today, but charging over sticker price (which is too high in the first place) is ridiculous. Again, I don’t mean to be negative, but if I wait another year for the sublime color and they do the same thing, by God I will be tempted to end the generations of committment to Dodge once and for all. This is NOT good for sales, only a handful of diehard mopar faithfull will purchase these cars while the rest of us try another manufacturer. You really need to police these dealerships.

    Posted December 21, 2009 at 2:55 am | Permalink

Let me get on my soap box about the “market adjustment cost” We are in hard times across the country and both my local dealers wanted to charge me MAC of $2,500 and $3,500. So I bought the car out of state and they sold nothing instead. Dodge Corp or whatever they are calling themselves needs to put an end to MAC and get the cars on the road. If I was running Dodeg I would keep track of the dealers charging this and get rid of them or penalize them for not doing their job. Which is to sell cars. Not create museums. The dodge dealer isn’t Barrett Jackson in AZ. Yes a Hemi Challenger all original from the 70’s pulls six figures largely because they made less than 750 of them between the last two years. They made 6000 2008 SRT8 Hemis alone. So please lets get the cars on the road and out the dealerships.

Oh also if I was running Dodge. I would have introduced sublime by now instead of another year of Hemi Orange. But then again I can add 2 plus 2 and come up with 4. Really what is Dodge management thinking about? It seems like the simplest of decisions can be really challenging (no pun intended) for you guys. Must be all that education and living the high life in the ivory towers instead of being on the ground where the cars are!!

I think CMC has a point. If you look at how much the sales of even the Challenger have dropped from last year and then the dealers continue to charge full price and even over the full sticker price then that is just immoral. I think the Brampton plant can pump them out fast enough now that the dealers don’t have to be greedy and lose a lot of potential customers who are willing to try American cars again.
