Intelligent Muscle – 2012 Charger SRT8

We’ll be the first to admit that our new Charger SRT8 would never be mistaken for a “Gentleman’s Hot Rod,” despite the fact it has virtually the same creature comforts as its preppy cousin: the Chrysler 300C SRT8. Between these two high-performance sedans, our 2012 Charger SRT8 is more “in your face” thanks to its aggressive styling, while the 300C SRT8 blends in better at the country club.

With a 470 horsepower 6.4L HEMI® under its sculpted hood along with unique front and rear fascia, the Charger SRT8 certainly gets noticed among the “go-fast” crowd. Behind the wheel of this ride, you might get some wide-eyed glances of admiration and awe from passersby who’d probably give their birth right just for a 12 second blast down the drag strip.

Speaking of going down the track, the speed junkies at Edmunds Inside Line had some fun tearing it up in the Charger SRT8 along with a Challenger SRT8 392. We’d like to spread some horsepower love among all of you, too, so check out this video to see this beast in action. (Just make sure to check to the volume on your speakers!)

If they ever loose the four doors….

An option of manual stick should be there for all models.. look your car you made (charger) and see how many people are mad how there isn’t a manual stick.. how do u not know what people are looking for?

I miss my 2009 Challenger RT, but would settle for an srt8

Awsum Challenger ! Keep it going

  • Kungfujackrabbit

Four doors and still speaker than the challenger! The charger will always be plain meaner.

Nope. Challenger is better on the track. I just raced at the SRT8 experience and I can tell you that the Challenger was far better and was the best handling of the SRT8 bunch. And the first car everyone in the group wanted to continue to drive was not the Charger, but the Challenger. Maybe next year but for now its all Challenger. When the pro drivers did the Hot Laps, they weren’t driving the Chargers but the Challengers. Just that simple….

Still no definite information on the addition of the eight-speed transmission for the Hemi powered Challenger and Charger? seems to me it would be the best move Chrysler could make for this line of cars.somebody build a fire under management and get rolling on this very important improvement.
    thanks

Everyone wants a “stick shift”. yet when it comes down to a racing, they have no idea where to shift in the cars powerband. Good driver with automatic will always beat a crappy “stick shifter”. As far as wanting two doors, maybe its time to cut off the mullet.
