Dodge Durango and Journey – Most Improved for 2011!

As we pass the halfway point of Summer, things are heating up at Dodge. Recently the folks at MSNBC.com came out with their ten most improved cars for 2011 and our new Durango and Journey were on the list. The editors recognized our newly redesigned interiors that are refined and comfortable. They also acknowledged our award winning fuel efficient 3.6L Pentastar V6 engine that makes more power and gets better gas mileage than the previous power plants.

According to Dan Carney, the automotive editor for MSNBC.com, “The new Durango is built on a new unibody chassis shared with the Mercedes-Benz M-Class and R-Class crossover SUVs and it is outfitted with either the company’s new 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine or the latest version of the company’s heralded Hemi V8, with cylinder deactivation for better gas mileage when cruising on the highway. Mercedes’ ride and Hemi power? That’s a tough-to-beat combination.”

When it came time for him to get behind the wheel of the Journey, he was also taken a back over numerous improvements and enhancements made on the 2011 model. “…the 2011 Journey was the recipient of the company’s most lavish makeover, with a positively opulent interior that welcomes customers inside. Under the hood it also gets the new 3.6-liter Pentastar V6, with its accompanying improvements in power, smoothness and efficiency.”

I think the new Durango looks a lot better than the truck looking thing they had before.  Much more elegant and refined.  I like the Kevin Eubanks video clips you have to the right as well.  He never said much on the Jay Leno show, however, he sounds really convincing on these commercials.  By the way, I had a 1970 D100 truck like the one you have on your Photo Feed in sublime green and it had black Dodge Dude decals.  I couldn’t get the decals at the time so I had to trace them on paper and then paint them on after I repainted it.  It had a 440 motor in which I placed a 6-pack set on top of.  It used to be my daily driver until someone made me an offer I couldn’t refuse.  You don’t see too many of those any more. http://www.dodgedude.com/history.php

I agree with Sublime above the Gen 3 Durango looks much better than the Gen 2 and seems to me should have been the one to follow the Gen 1. Side by side the Gen 3 seems to have grown from the natural curves of the Gen 1.
The New D is Awesome on all accounts

I purchased a Journey 2009. Bought the car brand new from Douglas County Dodge Chrysler Jeep located in Douglas County, Ga. Tire size 225/55/19 the tire is made by Kumo. After contacting several tire companies, I discovered that this tire is on national back order. I spoke with the General Manager Scott at Douglas County Dodge, I wanted to know if there was a tire that was comparable with the tires we already have. Scott did contact me and explained that he was able to find a tire that is comparable, but I would have to replace all 4 tires. Well if I have to replace all 4 tires then the tire is not comparable. Did I miss something. I say shame on Dodge for the incredible customer service that was provided.
