Durango Goes the Distance

Durango Goes the Distance

Not everyone likes math, especially when it comes to story problems, but here’s an easy one. When the new 2014 Durango arrives in Dodge showrooms this fall, standard features on the class-leading SUV will include a fuel tank capacity of 24.6 gallons. Now figure in estimated 25 mpg hwy for the Pentastar 3.6L and here’s the result: a total vehicle range of more than 600 miles.

Imagine that—more than 600 miles without a refueling stop. Just think of all the places the Durango can take you on a single tank of gasoline.

If you’re starting out in Fort Worth, Texas, you can head on over to New Orleans for some authentic Dixieland jazz, seeing miles and miles of Texas (206 miles, to be exact) along the way.

From the Golden Gate Bridge near downtown San Francisco, the Durango can power all the way to the bright lights of the Las Vegas strip—nonstop.

If you’re in Memphis, you could have barbecue pulled pork and dry ribs for lunch, then head up to the Windy City and enjoy some Chicago deep-dish pizza for dinner.

For a historical tour, you can start in Boston, the birthplace of the American revolution, and then drive to Richmond, Virginia, the capital of the old Confederacy—and see New York City, Philadelphia, and Washington, DC, along the way.

From sea to shining sea, the Durango’s impressive range and fuel efficiency are enabled by some exciting new Dodge technology, including an advanced eight-speed automatic transmission and driver-selectable Eco Mode with Fuel Saver Technology. And all these new features are standard, by the way.  Where do you want to go? With the 2014 Dodge Durango, the road awaits.

I’m in the same boat as Ali AlWaheedy, I’ve been really looking forward to this car. I’ve been renting cars for a few months waiting for this thing due to an accident that totaled my last car. I’m going to have to go with a Ford if this thing doesn’t happen in Q3 as it was stated the whole time. Getting anxious.
