2011 Dodge Durango Citadel Breaks Cover

Once again, our friends at the Chrysler Blog are kicking off the workday with exciting, breaking news. Scroll down for all details, straight from the official source.

Chrysler Blog October 6, 2010 – “Thought you’d like to see a shot of the interior of the all-new 2011 Dodge Durango Citadel.

The Durango’s all-new interior is a surprise owners always deserved but never expected. Created by the same interior design studio that designed the much-lauded interior in the Ram trucks and the all-new Jeep Grand Cherokee, the Durango’s luxurious interior materials and thoughtful touches will make owners and their crews want to jump in, hunker down and thoroughly enjoy even the longest drive. Everywhere they touch, Durango passengers will feel materials that are refined and soft to the touch. Not only is it a pleasure to behold, it is extremely functional and gives owners a first-class experience, regardless of the trim level. Durango’s interior is also extremely comfortable for all three rows of passengers, and there’s a surprising amount of interior flexibility. With 22 different seating configurations, there’s plenty of room to store and move plenty of people and their gear.

For more on the 2011 Dodge Durango, go to www.dodge.com. Look for it in showrooms starting the fourth quarter of this year.”

Does Chrysler do any testing with taller and shorter then usual crash test dummies (say 5’0″ and 6’6″)? The reason I ask is although the trucks and Durangos are comfortable, there are several things that could have been built and designed better, especially for those of us well above average height (I am 6’5″). The pillar in the Gen2 Durangos above the doors on both sides stick out more than usual making it not only dangerous for the side of our head in a side impact (or even rough roads with lots of side to side motions) but also difficult at times having to duck our head just to get in and out of what is pretty much a full size vehicle.
Feel free to contact me if further information is needed or for other suggestions.

As a 02 Durango owner I would much rather see a full framed Ram truck SUV. Call it the RAMCHARGER and I will buy it today.

You people are messing up with the Durango design again,,,,The best looking Durango,, that we luv to drive were the first generation ones, the 1998’s to 2003, fierce looking muscle SUV’s, unlike the later ones that looked like sissy’s… improve on the first generation Durangos with fuel economy and Durango would be great again,,,2011 model looked liked sissy’s too. Ive got lot of friends who are Durango enthusiasts and we completely agree on this.

I wonder about that 3 spoke wheel as well, if it will be the standard for now.

I have a Dodge Durango 1994. I was wondering if I could pull home on a dolly a Dodge stratus from Delaware to Pennsylvania. It’s about 331miles. Can the transmission handle this? Please let me know soon.

I have been waiting so long for the new durango but I was disappointed when I went and saw it today it looks just like a bigger journey that’s it I was not inpressed with the corprate people that were there that could not anwser any questions about the new durango and the fact that they took the eighth seat out that really sucks and come on dodge when you have people that are waiting to see you cars at least let us look inside and not keep it locked up. So I guess I still have to wait a little long to see if I want my now third durango maybe I will wait to see what comes out next year

It’s intresting to see how so many people do not like this. I loved the durango when it first came out, the 2nd gen. I can not stand. Now this one has come, to me it looks like a beefed up grand cherokee…AND I LOVE IT!!!

This Durango looks like an sport version of the GMC Acadia that my wife has. The Acadia looks short and stubby with the big ugly grille that has GMC on it. This looks a heck of a lot better.

If you want to see big and ugly, take a look at the chevy terrain. Whose Idea was it to put
those big boxes around all four wheels? UGH! As if the front wasen’t ugly enough!
The new Durango looks nice, but I’ve never had the opportunity to see it up close. Via pictures
it looks alot smaller than past Durrangos. That not good. The last generation looked
