A Look at the 2014 Dodge Charger

2014 Dodge Charger

Looking for a powerful, stylish, family-sized sedan? The Dodge Charger has it all. Simply choose the Charger that suits you best.

If a super-efficient V6 is on your wish list, select the Charger in SE, SXT or SXT Plus trim. The 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 with 292 hp is standard here, with fuel economy of up to 31 miles per gallon highway (EPA estimate). The high-tech V6 is available with both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive and with your choice of five-speed and eight-speed automatic transmissions (AWD available with eight-speed only). With the optional Rallye and Redline Appearance Groups and the Blacktop Package, the Pentastar’s power rating is boosted to an even 300 hp without sacraficing any fuel economy.

How about a V8? Opt for the 5.7-liter HEMI®, the package Dodge calls the “370-hp power trip.” Standard in the Charger R/T, R/T Plus, R/T Road & Track, and R/T Max, this performer combines muscle and value with standard four-cylinder-mode Fuel Saver Technology. Also included is a five-speed automatic transmission with the sporty Auto-Stick feature for greater driving pleasure.  All-wheel drive is available with the V8 on all R/T models except the R/T Road & Track.

For the ultimate in performance, there’s the 6.4-liter HEMI® V8 exclusive to the SRT8 and SRT8 Super Bee. Also equipped with Fuel Saver Technology, this 392-cubic-inch beast is rated at 470 hp and 470 lb.-ft. of torque, and is matched to a five-speed automatic transmission that includes both Auto-Stick and steering wheel paddle shifters. For those in search of a true driver’s car, this is the total package.

There’s so much more for the 2014 model year. Take your pick from nine exciting, distinctive models and a full slate of appearance, interior, convenience and connectivity options—there are even special editions, including the exclusive Charger Blacktop and the new Charger Redline, as well as the All Wheel Drive Sport Package. Would like to see a 6 speed manual available in R/T and SRT8 chargers and maybe the 426 Mopar hemi in SRT from the factory?

Been sayin that since I bought my 2008 RT/RT package Charger… Dumb offering a performance car without even the option of a manual gearbox… hey how bout this deluxe cheeseburger, you want fries with that… go fuck yourself!

My first new car was a 66 Charger. It would be great if the 2016 Charger were to incorporate some of the lines of the ’66 Charger to celebrate its 50th anniversary.

also been sayin that since I bought my 2008 RT/RT package charger… Danko came close to making a throwback fascia but the challenger took over I think… Why is a 4door not considered a candidate for throwback styling? Is it not the older crowd that likes to buy old toys at rediculous sums to endulge their boyhood fantasies? Are you not completely retarded for not offering a 4-door throwback moreso than a 2door to that crowd… The only thing I dislike about dodge is their disdain for public opinion… Their owner forums have been a joke, they never listen to any suggestions, they just keep putting out cars they hope people will like when the loyalists are telling them exactly what they want through the aftermarket…
