NAIAS Sneak Peek: A Detonator Yellow Dodge Nitro

You didn’t really think the Nitro would let Challenger steal all the high-impact color thunder, did you? Introduced at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit today: The Dodge Nitro Detonator, which offers a stunning new exterior that goes beyond the paint and racing decals to also include 20-inch Mopar aluminum wheels. The Detonator’s interior features standard bells and whistles previously available only as add-on options on the Nitro SXT: a matching interior color,  eight-speaker stereo with subwoofer, reverse assist, and a remote starter, all for an MSRP of $25, 995 (another new model, the Dodge Nitro Shock, adds sun roof and heated leather seats for $26, 995).

I like it although it’s probably not the version of Nitro that I would buy. It’s a bit too LOUD for me. The younger folks out there should love it though! I’ll take my Nitro in Sunburst Orange and minus the stripes. I want leather interior, 4WD, Sunroof, dual exhaust, 4.0 liter V6, 5 spd auto, limited slip rear axle, tow package, and nice wheels!

“You didn’t really think the Nitro would let Challenger steal all the high-impact color thunder”

Yeah actually, I was hoping you would since the challenger is the only car being sold that actually looks like one of the cars that made high impact colors popular.

This is worse than the “daytona” “package” that was available for the four door sedan. (and that was pretty bad)

I kinda like it. The hood to fender stripes look better on the Nitro than the Challenger. Just make limited batches of colors and options of all your cars and then people will have to pay full price for the cars because there aren’t that many sitting on the lots. Variety is good and if it sells really well then you can always make another batch and offer it again in a month. I hate having to pick from the same colors at the dealer. It is nice to have a choice and then be able to order that color combination if your dealer doesn’t have it. People don’t mind paying a little more if they can get what they want. Maybe you could have a lot of these options installed at the dealer so you don’t have to make so many cars that sit on the lot for months. There has to be a plausible sollution to get what you want without having to wait three or four years.

Dodge is one of the world class and top rated company of the automotive world. This company is having many of the features and specialties which can never be compared with any of the other companies. There are so many models introduced by the company which are still rocking. The model displayed here is most spectacular models of Dodge. The power formed by the engine of this truck is enormous.

Please bring back the Sunburst Orange Color for the 2012 Nitro – I have to have one and have heard multiple comments from people who are disappointed that the color was not available for 2010 or 2011 year – Love the Nitro!
