That was a no brainer. The challenger is the best looking sports/muscle car on the market today! I’ve owned 6 six mustangs and none of them came even close to the challenger! Yes I am a converted fan.

That’s great to hear moparnut. The challenger is definately the best looking of that bunch
shown for voting. In my opinion, it’s the best looking car on the road today. And if you want to talk about retro, it’s the closest!

Dodge, here’s a little tough love when it comes to the Challenger:

First, you need to get off your collective arse and make a convertible version. Ford has (almost) always had a ragtop version of the Mustang, and Chevy has listened to its loyal fanbase and is coming out with a ragtop Camaro this year. Like it or not, these cars are your 2 closets competitors (never mind the pointless “pony car vs muscle car” argument), and you’re coming up short in that department. I mean, if you guys can make a convertible out of a PT Cruiser for chrissakes…

And second, while I wholeheartedly applaud the new 470 horse 6.4 Hemi, unfortunately Chevy has already announced they’re coming out with a 550 horse Camaro ZL1 next year… for the same price as a Challenger 392. Hopefully you’ve got something up your sleeve to compete on an equal footing AND in price) with this and the Mustang Shelby GT500 very soon – you can only be the “best looking” pony/muscle car on the road for so long…

Chubby and Fijord have gone “supercharging”. I’ve never known Mopar to do this. I would rather naturally aspirated. If you want a supercharger, you can always buy one yourself.

I can’t remember a time when the Challenger lost such a voting contest. One or two of the others will surge forth when news of the poll reaches their favorite forum, but then the Challenger owners mobilize and absolutely dominate the results. It will be interesting to see if the Challenger can keep its crown now that foreign competition has been added into the mix. Whatever the outcome, one thing that can never be taken away from the Challenger is its Best of Show award at the Detroit Auto Show in 2006 when the concept car made its debut, which was also happened to be the debut of the concept Camaro.

I am 65 years old and have owned 53 cars in my life time. Many of those cars were what you would call “muscle cars” and included 4 Corvettes, 3 GTO’s, SS-396 Chevelle, 3 HEMI powered Dodge vehicles, 1973 Dodge Challenger, Etc, etc etc……… I currently own a 2010 Plum Crazy Challenger R/T (5.7 HEMI / 6-speed Manual Trans) and it is by far my favorite vehicle of all of them. I cannot even explain the feeling I get when I get behind the wheel and go thru the gears. With the ‘New MOPAR Muscle”, not only do you get the power of the HEMI but you also get all of the new comfort and safety features that have come out since. I guess you would have to have grown up in the “old” muscle car era (60s and 70s) to really appreciate the new era muscle cars. The new cars are good looking, fast, comfortable and will stop on a dime and give you 9 cents change. LOVE YA MA MOPAR!!!
