For Those About To Rock (And Run)

Since its inception over a decade ago, the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon has been heralded for its unique combination of energy, entertainment, and good clean fun. Over 300, 000 runners and countless bands participate in the 14 annual races, making it by and large the most heavily attended event of its kind. As a matter of fact, you might even say it’s the most fun you can have breaking a sweat outside of your garage. It’s for this reason that Dodge was eager to jump on board as one of the title sponsors – and just in time for National Running Day, no less.

“With the Dodge Brand’s commitment to innovation, extensive dealer network and ability to bring fresh eyes to the industry, we couldn’t be more excited to team with them as we present the world’s premier series of running events, ” said CGI CEO Peter Englehart. “Establishing this sponsorship is further evidence that a new era of running is upon us, and we anticipate that this will be a long-lasting and multi-faceted partnership for many years to come.”

The partnership will kick off on the 10th anniversary of the Virginia Beach RnR Half Marathon September 5th, where Dodge will serve as the title sponsor. Later that fall, Dodge will serve as the Official Automotive Partner and Official Vehicle of the Philadelphia Half Marathon (Sept. 17-19), Denver Marathon & Half Marathon (Oct. 15-17), and the Los Angeles Half Marathon (Oct. 22-24).
“Running is a fun, energetic and healthy sport that reflects many of our own brand values, ” said Ralph Gilles, President and CEO, Dodge Brand, Chrysler Group LLC. “This sponsorship gives Dodge an opportunity to connect with our customers one-on-one, not only as a sponsor, but as a participant. Many of our Dodge team members, including myself, are training for the Dodge Rock ‘n Roll Virginia Beach Half Marathon. These runners are living their lives to the fullest, and we’re amped to be part of their experience.”

Think you can run with the Dodge pack? Then you better hit the ground running (rimshot). You’ve only got 3 months to get into fighting shape – not including the time it’ll take you to dub “Eye of the Tiger” over the footage of you running across the abandoned industrial park – so get busy, and don’t forget to check back here for official RnR updates!

Congratulations Brad Keselowski on winning the Nationwide race in Nashville. I am glad that you didn’t break the guitar like Kyle Busch did. Two Dodges in the top five. Congrats Penske. Congrats Justin Allgaier on 4th place. Great job Dodge!
