A new Dodge has joined the force. The Broward County Sheriff’s Department in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, already well stocked with more than 200 Dodge Chargers, has now added several high-powered Challengers to its law enforcement fleet. For deputy Tom Sheridan, the choice was a no-brainer for the fleet’s Aggressive Driving Enforcement unit: “They’re a full-sized, rear-wheel drive V8-powered car that’s larger than the competition — the Chevy Camaro and the Ford Mustang — but they share a lot features and performance of the Charger,” he says. Driving Route 66 has become something of a cliche that never seems to live up to the hype of “America’s Highway” — but that’s because most people don’t drive it through Oklahoma. Almost 400 miles of the classic road run through the state (more than any other), and while the rest of the highway has undergone drastic changes over the years,there’s a two-hour stretch between Tulsa and El Reno that is still the US 66 of modern legend.

The Viper ACR-X Drops Jaws at Sebring

Last weekend marked the annual Winterfest at Sebring Raceway and with it, the first public racing appearance of the 2010 Viper SRT10 ACR-X. Not content to sit on the sidelines getting drooled over, the race-ready Viper saw action during several of the event’s Enduro races. Driver Kuno Wittmer had the ACR-X’s rotors glowing on several night sessions, setting some of the fastest Viper laps of the weekend (around 2:09) in what was simply deemed a “test and tune” weekend for the team.
