Dodge Circuit: Is It the Future of Dodge Performance?

Dodge Circuit EV concept

It’s hard to talk about the future of Dodge without mentioning their next-generation performance vehicles, and the Circuit EV could very well be a glimpse into that future.

The newly revealed Circuit offers some impressive performance and efficiency numbers, not to mention instant access to torque, yet it’s very different from the muscle cars we’re used to.

Here’s what we want to know: Would you buy a Dodge Circuit? What characteristics do you hope for in a performance electric vehicle? Answer in the poll toward the bottom right of the blog’s home page and share your thoughts in the comments section.

A lot of things to consider. One, is it affordable or a niche model like the viper or tesla roadster? When I hear Chevy say that the Volt will come in at around $40,000 and that they’ll be losing money for a while, I don’t see how a car like this could be less than that. If prices on electric vehicles could come down and a car like this could start at the under $30,000 range, then I’d say it could be huge. Seems like all the environmentally friendly vehicles have to be boring as well (the converj was cool but just a concept). If Dodge could be the first out with a mass market electric sports car they’d have an entire market to themselves. I don’t know that I would buy the car as it is now though, the crosshair grille brings a little Dodge into the design but it’s still a Lotus.

Adapt this to the Demon concept’s design and bring it to market within the next 4 years and I’ll probably buy one. But it will need to be practical too, a small gas tank to get me around when I can’t charge it is a must.

This car is hot. If we can purchase an exotic car for about $30,000 and then never have to go to the gas station then that is great. Perfect, if you make them in sublime, plum crazy and the other high impact colors.

The new design is great, the car is sexy and the concept has everything it needs. not more, not less. A perfect second car for getting to work everyday and having a little fun over the weekend. With a price below 45.000 i’d order at once!

Is this car ever going to materialize or is it going to become available after GM, Honda, Toyota, Ford, etc. all have their vehicles on the market? We need this car now and we need it to be afordable and come in all of the high impact colors. Thanks and make this happen!

I would like to see at least a 100 mile range between charges. The flexibility to charge it from a 110 or a 220 volt outlet. The battery needs to last at least 3 years without losing range and not be too expensive to replace. 0-60 times in the sub 6 second range would be nice. I think an ev drive train like this would sell well in any of Dodge’s cars or trucks.

If you can have that look in an electric, yes, I’d buy it today if it was available.

This is the kind of breakthrough American cars need to become relevant again.

I look for the pratical, can I go out to dinner in it with my BF and a couple of friends when the their kids are with the sitter, can I put a load of groceries in it and still have room for the people. to get to the nearest grocery store is a 20 mile trip – need to be able to get there and back in 10 below,…i love the storage bins and flexibility of the journey and the caravan and would love to see that ingenuity in this design. A big selling point for me – audio controls on the steering wheel,…
